Driverless Cars: A $7 Trillion Industry That Awaits Us

A recent report by Intel suggests that a “Passenger Economy” based on driverless vehicles is on the horizon and that it holds “massive economic potential”. The report suggests that the Passenger Economy represents approximately US$7 trillion global opportunity by 2050. Part of this value creation is by, adopting Mobility-as-a-Service and other proportions associated with vehicle use.

Mobility-as-a-Service will account for at least USD$3.7 trillion, which is nearly 55% of all revenues. The business use of the same, will also generate USD$3 trillion as industries like transportation and freight delivery and sales and service fleets will utilize pilotless vehicle technology to reshape the core of their businesses.
